Ki Cho Hyung, is the first set of forms a new student learns in Kuk Sool. As such, it is a fundamental or foundation level form that introduces many of the concepts that are essential to all Kuk Sool forms. In particular, the Five Principles of Forms (1:Eyes Bright and clear, 2: Mind Calm and focused, 3: Stance low and soft, 4: Feet slow and precise, 5: Hands fast and controlled)

In performing Ki Cho Hyung, one should develop smoothness, coordination and balance. Your primary goal is to cultivate these qualities in each movement. Although power, speed and quickness are desirable qualities in Hyung training, they are a secondary goal at this level. One should never sacrifice coordination or balance for speed and power when performing Ki Cho Hyung
